Ingredients
- 40 g (4 tbsp) gelatin
- 200 ml (3/4 cup) boiled water, cooled
- 200 ml (3/4 cup) cream (20%)
- 600 ml (2 1/2 cups) milk
- Vanilla to taste
- 5 tbsp sugar
- Sliced fruit (banana, kiwi, mandarin, cranberries) and cookies, as desired
Instructions
- Soak the gelatin in the cooled boiled water for 20 minutes to bloom.
- Warm the cream and milk in a saucepan to about 45°C (113°F). Lower the heat, add the bloomed gelatin, and stir until dissolved.
- Stir in the vanilla and sugar. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Slice the fruit and arrange it in a bowl. Pour in the creamy mixture in layers, alternating with fruit and cookies.
- Cover with plastic wrap and chill at least 5 hours, preferably overnight.
Tips
- Let the gelatin bloom fully for 20 minutes, and keep the cream mixture warm, not boiling, so it dissolves smoothly.
- Cool the creamy mixture before layering, so the fruit stays bright and the layers stay distinct.
- Chill overnight for the firmest, cleanest slices, and find more no-bake ideas at Allrecipes.
