These Minced Meat Stuffed Baked Mushrooms are a hearty, high-protein dinner that feels a little special without any fuss. Juicy mushroom caps are filled with seasoned minced meat and onion, then baked until tender and topped with melted cheese. They are perfect for a quick weeknight meal, a party appetizer, or a light supper with a fresh salad.

Ingredients
- 400 g (14 oz) large button mushrooms
- 200 g (7 oz) ground beef or chicken
- 50 g (2 oz) onion, minced
- 50 g (2 oz) low-fat hard cheese, grated
- Salt and minced-meat spices to taste
Instructions
- Remove the mushroom stems and chop them finely with the onion (a blender works).
- Mix the ground meat with the onion, chopped stems, salt and spices. Fill the mushroom caps.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25-30 minutes, then top with grated cheese and bake until melted.
Tips
- Choose large, firm button mushrooms with deep caps so they hold plenty of filling without collapsing.
- Do not overfill the caps; a little room lets the cheese melt evenly and the filling cook through.
- Serve straight from the oven with a crisp green salad or crusty bread to soak up the juices.
