Sweet, juicy pears and creamy, melty camembert are a match made in heaven — especially when they meet flaky puff pastry. This pear and camembert tart looks like it came straight from a French bakery, yet it needs barely any hands-on time. Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 1 pear
- 100 g (3.5 oz) camembert
- Fresh thyme and dried herbs
- Walnuts, chopped (pine nuts work too)
- Honey for drizzling
- 1 egg yolk for brushing
Instructions
- Thaw the pastry. Without rolling it out, score a frame around the perimeter (don’t cut through) and prick the center with a fork.
- Slice the pear thinly so it bakes through; cut the camembert into pieces. Arrange the pear and camembert on the pastry and brush the edges with yolk.
- Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 20-25 minutes.
- Sprinkle with thyme, walnuts, and a drizzle of honey before serving.

Tips
- Slice the pear paper-thin so every bite bakes through evenly.
- Score the pastry frame without cutting through — it puffs into a beautiful golden border.
- Add the honey and fresh thyme after baking so they stay vibrant and fragrant.
