Ingredients
- 1 pack yeast-free puff pastry
- 200 g (1 1/2 cups) frozen cherries
- 180 g (3/4 cup) mascarpone
- 2-3 tbsp condensed milk
- 1 tbsp starch
- 1/2 tsp vanilla sugar
- Pinch of cinnamon
- 4 tsp sugar
Instructions
- First, stew the cherries: place 200 g cherries in a saucepan, add the starch, and stir; add the vanilla sugar, cinnamon, and 3 tsp sugar; cook over heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
- For the cream sauce, mix the mascarpone with the condensed milk.
- Keep in a warm place so the sauce softens.
- Cut the puff pastry into strips, stretch them slightly, and twist.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180C (350F) for 10 minutes.
- Cool the pastry; spread with the mascarpone sauce and top with the cherries.
- Drizzle with condensed milk and almond petals if desired.
Tips
- Let the baked pastry cool before adding the mascarpone so the filling stays thick and creamy.
- Stir the cherry sauce constantly so it thickens smoothly without lumps.
