Ingredients
- 250 g (9 oz) spaghetti
- 200-250 g (7-9 oz) ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2-3 tomatoes (or 10 cherry tomatoes), chopped
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 pinch of thyme or Italian herbs
- Grated hard cheese for serving
- Olive oil, salt to taste
Instructions
- Sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil, then add the ground beef gradually, browning it evenly.
- Add the tomatoes and tomato sauce; simmer over medium heat until the tomatoes soften. Cook the spaghetti until al dente, then add thyme, salt and a splash of pasta water to the sauce.
- Bring the sauce to your preferred thickness, toss with the spaghetti and serve with grated cheese.
Tips
- Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining — it helps the sauce cling to the spaghetti.
- Simmer until the tomatoes break down fully for a smoother, richer sauce.
