- 400 g (14 oz) mushrooms, sliced
- 250 ml (1 cup) cream (10-20%)
- 150 ml (2/3 cup) water
- 150 g (5 oz) cheese, grated

Instructions

- Sauté the onion until soft; add the mushrooms and cook 6-7 minutes together.
- Lower the heat — add the cream, salt, pepper and spices; simmer 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Spoon the mushroom mixture over the potatoes and top with cheese.
- Bake 10 more minutes at 180°C (350°F).
Tips
- Slice the potatoes as thinly as you can so they cook through evenly.
- Let the gratin rest a few minutes before serving so the sauce settles.
