Ingredients
- 400 g (14 oz) puff pastry
- 200 g (7 oz) hard cheese, grated
- 150 g (5 oz) ham, thinly sliced
- 1 egg, for brushing
- Sesame seeds, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Roll the pastry thin and cut into equal squares.
- Grate the cheese and slice the ham. Make the cuts in the pastry as you like for a decorative edge.
- Place ham then cheese on each square, fold in half and press the edges together with a fork.
- Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake in a preheated 170°C (335°F) oven for about 30 minutes.
Tips
- Press the edges firmly with a fork so the cheese stays inside while baking.
- Serve warm for the best melted-cheese pull, or pack cooled bites for lunchboxes.
