Golden baked cottage cheese donuts topped with cheese and fresh herbs, served on a plate

Ingredients

  • 400 g (1 3/4 cups) dry cottage cheese (0.5%)
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g (3/4 cup) flour
  • 100 g (1 cup) grated cheese
  • Fresh herbs, chopped
  • Salt and dried garlic to taste

Instructions

  1. Choose a dry cottage cheese. Mix it with the eggs, flour, and grated cheese. Season with salt, dried (or fresh) garlic, and herbs.
  2. With wet hands, form balls and poke a hole through the middle of each with your finger — the bigger the hole, the neater the donut. Place on a silicone mat or oiled parchment.
  3. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25-30 minutes until golden.

Tips

  • Use dry cottage cheese for the best shape; if yours is wet, drain it well before mixing.
  • Keep your hands wet while shaping, and make the hole generous, as it will close up slightly in the oven.
