Brownie Cheesecake

Recipe infographic: Brownie Cheesecake — ingredients and step-by-step visual guide

This brownie cheesecake layers a rich, fudgy chocolate base with a smooth, tangy cream cheese swirl — two favourite desserts in every bite. It bakes into a beautifully marbled cake that is indulgent without being heavy. Serve it slightly warm with berries, or chilled straight from the fridge. Brownie cheesecake slice with a creamy swirl on a plate

Ingredients

  • 120 g dark chocolate
  • 120 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g sugar
  • 60 g flour
  • For the cheesecake swirl:
  • 1 egg
  • 30 g sugar
  • 300 g cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate with the butter and stir until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar, add the chocolate-butter mixture, then sift in the flour and mix the batter.
  3. For the filling: whisk the egg with the sugar, add the cream cheese, and mix until smooth.
  4. In a parchment-lined pan, spread 2/3 of the chocolate batter, then the cheesecake filling, then the remaining chocolate batter. Level the top.
  5. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 40-50 minutes. Test with a skewer — moist crumbs should cling to it.

Tips

  • Use good-quality dark chocolate — it makes all the difference to the brownie layer.
  • Do not overbake: the centre should still wobble slightly and the skewer should come out with moist crumbs. For more chocolate baking ideas, Allrecipes has a wide collection of brownie recipes.
  • Chill the cake before slicing for clean, neat squares. For another creamy dessert, try our No-Bake Cherry Almond Cheesecake.
