These golden, flaky croissants are the easiest way to turn puff pastry into a warm, savory breakfast. Ham and melted cheese are rolled inside, then brushed with egg yolk and baked until deeply golden. They are simple, satisfying, and perfect with coffee or a fresh salad.

Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (yeast-free)
- Ham slices
- Cheese slices
- 1 egg yolk, for brushing
Instructions
- Roll out the pastry. Layer on the ham and cheese, then cover with pastry. Cut into triangles as for croissants.
- Roll up each triangle from the wide end. Brush with egg yolk.
- Bake at 220°C (425°F) for 25 minutes until deeply golden.
Tips
- Keep the pastry cold until you roll it, so it puffs up nicely in the oven.
- Do not overfill the triangles, or the cheese will leak out while baking.
- Serve warm for the best melted-cheese pull, and reheat leftovers briefly in a hot oven.
