These chicken lavash rolls bake up golden under a blanket of melted cheese — part comfort food, part crowd-pleaser. A savory minced-chicken filling rolled in thin lavash, soaked in an egg-milk custard, then finished with a crisp cheese crust. Ingredients
- 300 g (10 oz) chicken fillet
- 90 g (1 small) onion
- 60 g (2 oz) cheese
- 1 egg
- 100 ml (1/2 cup) milk
- 1 sheet lavash
- Salt, pepper, garlic, to taste
Instructions
- Grind the chicken fillet with the onion; season with salt and spices and mix.
- Unroll the lavash, spread the filling in a thin layer over the whole surface, and roll up tightly.
- Cut into portion-sized rolls. Whisk the egg with the milk.
- Arrange the rolls in a baking dish and pour over the egg-milk mixture.
- Bake at 180C (350F) for 10-15 minutes; sprinkle with grated cheese and bake 15 minutes more.
Tips
Spread the filling thin and roll tightly so the rolls hold their shape when sliced. Do not skip the egg-milk soak — it keeps the lavash tender instead of dry. Sprinkle the cheese during the last 15 minutes so it melts golden without burning.
