Ingredients
- 2 lemons
- 300 g (10.5 oz) frozen mixed berries
- 1.5-2 L (6-8 cups) water
- Ice cubes
- Sugar, honey or sweetener to taste
- Mint and lemon slices (optional)
Instructions
- Zest the lemons (yellow part only) and squeeze out the juice. Dilute with a little water and strain through a sieve.
- Blend the berries with a splash of water and strain.
- Combine the lemon mixture and berry puree, sweeten to taste, add ice and top up with water. Serve with mint and lemon slices.
Tips
- Zest only the yellow part of the lemon peel — the white pith can taste bitter.
- Strain both mixtures for a smooth, clear lemonade, or skip straining the berries for a thicker, pulpier drink.
- Taste as you sweeten, since frozen berries vary in sweetness; inspiration for fresh fruit drinks can be found at Allrecipes.
