These classic kefir pancakes are the fluffy, golden stack every breakfast table deserves. Warm kefir and a touch of baking soda make them rise tall and tender, with a gentle tang that pairs beautifully with honey, jam, or fresh berries. They come together in minutes — like our Chocolate-Stuffed Pancakes, they turn an ordinary morning into something worth lingering over.

Ingredients
- 200 g flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 egg
- 250 ml kefir (lukewarm)
- 2 tbsp olive or vegetable oil
Instructions
- Mix the sifted flour with the sugar and baking soda.
- Add the egg and stir.
- Pour in the warm kefir (gently warmed is fine).
- Add the oil and mix everything smooth.
- Fry on a dry hot skillet until bubbles appear, then flip.
Tips
- Warm the kefir gently — lukewarm kefir activates the baking soda for maximum fluff.
- Fry on a dry hot skillet and wait for bubbles before flipping, so the pancakes cook through without burning. For more pancake tips, see Allrecipes.
- Keep finished pancakes warm under a clean towel while you fry the rest.
