Ingredients
- 600 g (1.3 lb) ground meat
- 500 g (1.1 lb) puff pastry (yeast-free)
- 100 g (3.5 oz) onion, chopped
- 300 g (10.5 oz) tomatoes, grated
- 200 g (7 oz) canned corn, drained
- 150 g (5 oz) cheese, grated
- 3-4 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Sauté the onion, add the ground meat and cook until the liquid evaporates.
- Stir in the grated tomato, garlic, salt and pepper; simmer a few minutes. Add the corn — the filling is ready.
- Roll out the pastry on parchment, spread the filling, sprinkle with cheese and cover with a second sheet.
- Crimp the edges, brush with egg yolk and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 30 minutes.
Tips
- Let the filling cool slightly before assembling so the pastry stays crisp.
- Seal the edges well to keep the cheesy filling inside; for another fun lavash-style bake, try our Lavash Burger.
