These orange waffles are bright, zesty, and wonderfully fluffy — the kind of breakfast that makes an ordinary morning feel special. Fresh orange zest and juice folded into a tender sour-cream batter give every bite a sunny citrus lift, while the waffle iron crisps the edges to golden perfection. Like our Apple-Orange Pancakes, they get their flavor from real fruit, not extract, so serve them warm with a drizzle of honey and extra orange slices for a cheerful start to the day.

Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 100 g sour cream (15-20%)
- 1-2 oranges
- 80-100 g sugar
- 210 g flour
- 100 g butter, softened
- 10 g baking powder
- 8 g vanilla sugar
Instructions
- Zest one orange and squeeze 100 ml of juice.
- Cream the soft butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar.
- Add the eggs and mix.
- Stir in the sour cream.
- Add the orange zest and juice.
- Fold in the flour and baking powder until smooth.
- Bake in a preheated waffle iron until golden.
Tips
- Use freshly squeezed orange juice and zest from an unwaxed orange for the brightest flavor.
- Do not overmix the batter once the flour goes in — a few small lumps keep the waffles light and fluffy.
- Keep the waffle iron well heated and resist opening it too soon so the outside turns crisp and golden. Allrecipes has more handy waffle-making tips if you want to dig deeper.
