This pear crumble with streusel topping is warm, buttery and wonderfully simple, with cinnamon pears tucked under a crisp, golden crumb. It bakes in just 20 minutes and smells like autumn in the kitchen. If you love easy baked desserts, try the chocolate cottage cheese cheesecake or the blender cottage cheese cheesecake cups.

Ingredients
- 2 pears
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 350 g (2 3/4 cups) flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 80 g (5 tbsp) butter, room temperature
Instructions
- Dice the pears, toss with cinnamon, and set aside.
- For the streusel: mix the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Add the egg and butter and rub with your hands into crumbs.
- Toss the pears with lemon juice, spread in a baking dish, cover with streusel, and bake at 200 C (400 F) for 20 minutes.
Tips
- Use ripe but firm pears so they soften without turning mushy.
- Keep the butter at room temperature for crumbs that hold together.
- Serve warm with cream or ice cream for a classic finish.
