Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 10 dates, pitted
  • 500 g (1.1 lb) cottage cheese
  • 3 tbsp rolled oats
  • oil and a sprinkle of semolina for the baking dish

Instructions

  1. Blend the eggs, pitted dates, cottage cheese and oats until smooth.
  2. Grease a baking dish with oil and dust with semolina.
  3. Spread the mixture in the dish, level the top and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 30 minutes.
  4. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Tips

  • Soak the dates in warm water for 10 minutes if they are very dry — they will blend silkier.
  • Let the casserole cool slightly before slicing so the pieces hold their shape.
  • Dust the dish with semolina generously to prevent sticking — more baking know-how lives at Allrecipes.
