Ingredients
- 750 g (1.65 lb) pollock or cod fillets, thawed
- 300 g (10.5 oz) sour cream (20% fat)
- 1 egg
- 100 g (3.5 oz) hard cheese, grated
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 bunch fresh dill
- Salt and pepper mix, plus fish seasoning to taste
Instructions
- Arrange the thawed fish in a baking dish, season lightly with salt, pepper, and fish seasoning, and set aside while you make the sauce.
- Whisk the sour cream with the egg and minced garlic, then pour it over the fish.
- Top with the grated cheese and bake at 180°C (355°F) for 30–40 minutes, until the top is golden.
- Sprinkle with chopped dill and serve with your favorite side dish.
Tips
- Pat the thawed fillets dry with paper towels before adding the sauce so it clings instead of watering out.
- Haddock or tilapia can stand in for pollock or cod with the same baking time.
- Broil the last 2–3 minutes for an extra-golden cheese crust — watch it closely.
