Ingredients
- 300 g (10.5 oz) chicken breast fillets
- 200 g (7 oz) mushrooms, sliced
- 50 g (2 oz) onion, chopped
- 70 g (1/4 cup) sour cream (15%)
- 1-2 garlic cloves, grated
- 400 g (14 oz) fresh vegetables for serving
- Salt, pepper, flour to taste
Instructions
- Soften the onion, add the mushrooms and sauté about 5 minutes, stirring.
- Stir the grated garlic into the sour cream and pour over the mushrooms. Add a spoon of flour, salt and pepper; simmer covered on low for 7-10 minutes.
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper and sear without oil until golden (grill or non-stick pan works).
- Plate the chicken, spoon over the mushroom sauce and serve with fresh vegetables.
Tips
- Do not overcrowd the pan, so the chicken sears rather than steams.
- Keep the sauce on low heat after adding sour cream so it stays smooth; for another creamy mushroom favorite, see our Chicken Thighs with Potatoes and Creamy Mushrooms.
