These golden chicken and mushroom tartlets are the ultimate party appetizer: creamy, cheesy and irresistibly crisp. Tender chicken and mushrooms are folded into a rich cream sauce, spooned into crunchy shells and baked until bubbling. They look elegant, come together quickly and disappear fast at any gathering.

Ingredients
- 200 g (7 oz) chicken breast, diced
- 200 g (7 oz) mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 150 g (5.3 oz) hard cheese, grated
- 200 ml (3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) light cream (10%)
- 1 package large tartlet shells
- Salt, pepper and spices to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish
Instructions
- Saute the onion, chicken and mushrooms. Season with salt, pepper and spices, pour in the cream and simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Fill the tartlet shells with the mixture, top generously with grated cheese and bake at 180 C (350 F) for 15-20 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.
Tips
- Use large, sturdy tartlet shells so they hold the creamy filling without softening.
- Cook the filling until it is thick and glossy; a watery sauce will make the shells soggy.
- Bake just until the cheese is melted and lightly golden, then serve at once while the centers are hot and creamy.
