Chicken Patties with Pineapple and Cheese

Recipe infographic: Chicken Patties with Pineapple and Cheese — ingredients and step-by-step visual guide

Golden, juicy and just a little tropical, these chicken patties are a weeknight winner. Sweet pineapple and melted cheese keep every bite tender, while garlic and a crisp golden crust add savory depth. They come together in one bowl and cook in minutes, making them perfect for busy evenings, lunchboxes, or a relaxed family dinner — much like our Crispy Kefir-Marinated Chicken and Crispy Chicken Toast Pockets.

Golden chicken patties with pineapple and melted cheese, freshly fried and served hot

Ingredients

  • 500 g (1.1 lb) chicken breast, finely diced
  • 1 egg
  • 100 g (3.5 oz) cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp starch
  • 150 g (5 oz) canned pineapple, chopped
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, pressed
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine the diced chicken with the egg, grated cheese, sour cream, pressed garlic, flour, starch, chopped pineapple, salt and pepper.
  2. Mix until uniform.
  3. Spoon into patties and fry over medium heat 5-6 minutes per side.

Tips

  • Dice the chicken small and keep the mixture cold so the patties hold their shape in the pan.
  • Drain the pineapple well; extra juice can make the mixture too soft to spoon neatly.
  • For food safety, cook chicken thoroughly until it is no longer pink inside — see guidance from USDA — and keep the heat at medium so the cheese melts without burning the crust.
