These sticky glazed chicken drumsticks are the kind of dinner that disappears fast. Shaped into fun lollipops, marinated in soy and garlic, then baked and brushed with a sweet-savory BBQ honey glaze, they are juicy, caramelized and packed with protein — a guaranteed hit, much like our honey-garlic glazed chicken breasts.

Ingredients
- 8 chicken drumsticks
- 5 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp barbecue sauce
- 1.5 tsp mustard
- 1 tbsp honey
- Juice of half a lemon
Instructions
- Clean the drumsticks, trim off the skin, make slits in the flesh, and push the meat down the bone into a lollipop shape.
- Mix the soy sauce with the garlic and marinate the drumsticks for 20 minutes.
- Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, whisk the tomato paste, barbecue sauce, lemon juice, honey, and mustard into a glaze.
- Brush the drumsticks with the glaze and return to the oven for 15 more minutes, preferably under the grill/broiler setting.
Tips
- Trim the meat down the bone into a lollipop shape for even cooking and easy, mess-free eating.
- Don’t skip the broiler finish — it caramelizes the glaze beautifully. Watch closely so the sugars don’t burn.
- Rest the drumsticks a few minutes before serving so the glaze sets and the juices redistribute. For another crowd-pleasing chicken dinner, try our chicken shawarma-style wrap with garlic sauce.
