Pigs in a Blanket with Melted Brie Center

Recipe infographic: Pigs in a Blanket with Melted Brie Center — ingredients and step-by-step visual guide

These pigs in a blanket are the ultimate party centerpiece: golden puff pastry wrapped around juicy sausages, arranged in rings around a whole wheel of brie that melts into a rich, garlicky dip. They look spectacular on the table, yet they are surprisingly simple to assemble. Serve them straight from the oven while the brie is gooey and the pastry is crisp.

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 1 pack sausages (cheese-filled are best)
  • 1 wheel brie
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Unroll the pastry and wrap each sausage, trimming excess and pinching seams. Cut each wrapped sausage into thirds. Place the brie in the center of a baking sheet and arrange the pieces in two rings around it.
  2. Score the brie a few times and tuck in garlic slivers. Brush the pastry with yolk, sprinkle with sesame, and bake at 200°C (400°F) for 15-20 minutes. Peel off the brie’s top rind before serving and dip away.
