Juicy pork steaks baked under a golden cap of mushrooms, onion, and melted cheese — this easy weeknight dinner delivers big comfort with minimal effort. Tender pork neck, savory sautéed mushrooms, and a bubbly cheese topping make it a family favorite you’ll cook again and again.

Ingredients
- 300 g (10.5 oz) pork neck, cut into 3 steaks (about 100 g / 3.5 oz each)
- 100 g (3.5 oz) mushrooms
- 100 g (3.5 oz) onion, about 1 medium
- 50 g (1.75 oz) cheese, grated
- Fresh herbs, a sprig of rosemary
- Salt and spices, to taste
Instructions
- Season the pork with salt and pepper, place on a baking sheet, lay a sprig of rosemary on top, and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, sauté the sliced mushrooms and onion until golden.
- Mix the mushroom-onion mixture with the grated cheese and chopped herbs.
- Take the pork out of the oven, top each steak with the filling, and return to the oven for another 15 minutes.
Tips
- Don’t overbake the pork — it stays juicier if you take it out as soon as the cheese turns golden and bubbly. For safe cooking temperatures, check the guidelines at USDA.
- Swap the cheese for mozzarella, gouda, or a smoky cheddar to change up the flavor.
- Serve with Crispy Potato and Cheese Sticks or a simple green salad for a complete meal.
